Chelsea Green has gained recognition as one of WWE’s most eye-catching stars and now it appears she wants to bring back the WWE Divas Championship once she becomes a champion.
Chelsea Green recently qualified for the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match scheduled for July 6 in Toronto. She has boldly declared her intention to cash in on WWE Women’s Champion Bayley once she secures the briefcase.
In addition to her aspirations for the title, Chelsea Green has expressed her desire to petition for a change back to the WWE Divas Championship once she becomes champion, as she took to Twitter and made her intentions quite clear.
”When I win I’m starting a petition to change the @WWE Womens Championship back to the Divas Championship”
WWE Divas Championship was active from 2008 until it was rebranded as the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 32 in 2016. This rebranding was a pivotal moment in the WWE women’s evolution, aligning with their efforts to portray female wrestlers as serious athletes capable of main eventing and competing at the highest level.
Despite the positive evolution, some wrestlers and fans have fond memories of the Divas era and believe the branding received undue criticism. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see if the Divas Championship will ever return to the company again.
