Reason Behind Jacob Fatu’s Delayed WWE Debut Unveiled

Former MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu had signed with WWE earlier this year but it took him until SmackDown this week to debut and now the reason for his delayed debut has been revealed.

During the June 21st edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Jacob Fatu made dramatic debut. With a menacing smirk, he wreaked havoc on Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. Despite Rhodes’ attempt to fight back, he was swiftly overwhelmed by Fatu’s power. Fatu concluded the night by slamming Rhodes onto the announcer’s desk and aligning himself with Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline, marking a shocking end to the show.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that sources from MLW had previously indicated that Fatu had not wrestled outside the US due to past issues with his criminal record when he was younger. However, this did not prevent him from securing dates within the US. The impact of his history on his WWE booking remains uncertain, particularly with WWE increasing its international events, especially in the spring and summer.

Fatu’s background was cited as a primary reason he had not been hired earlier, but WWE’s newer management had reportedly been interested in him for some time. Additionally, sources noted that Fatu had made a positive impression within WWE and had shown a respectful attitude towards everyone backstage.
