AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is set to take place on June 30th in the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York and there is a ton of excitement for the event. With that said, another match was confirmed during the latest set of AEW Collision tapings.
During the AEW Collision tapings for the June 22nd episode, Chris Jericho and Big Bill’s ongoing issues with Private Party reached a boiling point during their recent match against The Learning Tree, culminating in a victory for the latter. However, tensions escalated post-match when Jericho and his ally ‘Redwood’ launched a brutal attack on Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen. The assault was swiftly halted by the unexpected intervention of Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and HOOK, who rushed to save Private Party from further harm.
This altercation set the stage for Samoa Joe to challenge Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith to a trios match at Forbidden Door on June 30th. The challenge comes amidst a backdrop of longstanding animosity between Jericho and HOOK, intensified by their feud over the FTW Championship.
We will have to wait and see whether The Learning Tree and his branches will end up defeating Samoa Joe, HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, as fans feel they have momentum now.
