AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is set to take place on June 30th and there is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the pay-per-view. Jeff Cobb previously sent out a challenge for a match at the event but he has now confirmed that no one has answered it and he still isn’t booked for the pay-per-view.

In case you forgot, Jeff Cobb retained his NJPW World Television Championship in a hard-fought battle against Tomohiro Ishii at NJPW Dominion. Following his victory, Cobb issued an open challenge, hinting at a potential appearance at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

While speaking to Steve Fall for Ringside News, Jeff Cobb talked about the aforementioned challenge. Cobb noted that he decided to take control by issuing his own challenges rather than waiting for others to challenge him, a stance that has so far gone unanswered despite the upcoming Forbidden Door season.

Jeff Cobb would then go on to state that he is not currently booked for the Forbidden Door pay-per-view and made it abundantly clear he will be okay with the fact that he isn’t competing at the event.

So for me, not liking that situation, I just went ahead and said, ‘You know what? I won’t even let anybody challenge me. I will do the challenging, and if anybody wants a shot, come forward.’

But as of right now, I am not scheduled to be there. Nobody’s reached out, nobody’s, like I said, my DMs are open, you know, my Twitter’s open, my Instagram’s open, Facebook, New Japan 1972, send them a message, they can get it to me. You can send a nice little card if you want, or a fax. Japan still uses fax machines, so fax it over and I’ll get it, I’ll get it eventually. But like I said, as of now, I am not scheduled to be there, and like I said, I’m not mad about it, I’m not sad about it, I’m not going to cry on the internet saying, ‘Oh, please, please book me.’ No, if I’m not booked, oh well.”

Jeff Cobb last made an appearance on the May 15th edition of AEW Dynamite, where he teamed up with Kyle Fletcher and faced off against Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley. It remains to be seen if Cobb will end up competing at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view in the end.
