Injured NXT Star Saquon Shugars Launches GoFundMe to Help with Medical Expenses

WWE NXT has been the home ground for some of the most talented in-ring athletes to develop their craft and one such young star is Saquon Shugars, who’s out of action due to injury. In light of his injury, it appears Shugars has launched a GoFundMe.

Formerly known as “Lucky Ali,” Saquon Shugars signed with NXT late last year and made his debut on February 10th this year. However, he hasn’t been able to wrestle much in NXT due to a knee injury he revealed in April. Shugars has been sidelined since then while recovering from his injury.

On June 19, Saquon Shugars took to Twitter and asked fans for help in a big way. He mentioned that he had “broke [his] knee off” during his debut match and expressed frustration that Shawn Michaels prevented him from continuing to work.

Shugars proposed the idea of being wheeled out like Ron Wright, but indicated that Michaels and Matt Bloom were not receptive to the suggestion. He included a link to his GoFundMe campaign and shared a photo of himself in a wheelchair alongside the post.

Shugars last wrestled on the March 19 episode of NXT Level Up, where he lost to Tavion Heights in a short match. This was only his fourth match in WWE, having made his NXT Live debut in a tag match in February. In the meantime, fans will have to wait to see when he will return to in-ring action.
