The world of professional wrestling has multiple fans from across all the sports. San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle is known to be a huge wrestling fan, often showing up backstage at shows, sitting in the front row for major events, and even leaving NFL post-game press conferences early to attend WWE events.
Kittle made a notable appearance at WWE’s premier show, WrestleMania 39 in 2023, involving himself in The Miz’s open challenge, which was answered by Pat McAfee. While at ringside, George Kittle exchanged trash talk with The Miz, who then pushed him.
In response, The San Francisco 49ers tight end delivered a clothesline to The Awesome One at ringside, allowing McAfee to hit the punt for the win. In an interview with ESPN, George Kittle revealed that he received a text from 49ers General Manager John Lynch after his WWE appearance, asking him to not do that again.
“”Hope you had fun” and “Don’t do that again.”
Kittle explained that he did not inform the team about his plan to get physical during the WrestleMania match, believing that as long as he didn’t get hurt, there wouldn’t be any issues. With George showing his prowess in physicality of the ring in some capacity, the WWE Universe would surely not mind seeing him in action one more time in the future.
