There are only a handful of stars in AEW who have been with the company since the very beginning, and The Blade is one of them. He is currently out of action due to injury, and he has now revealed his in-ring return timeline during his injury absence.
In case you were not aware, The Blade has been out of action due to a back injury for the past several months now. Naturally, fans started wondering when he would return to AEW television.
It has been three months since The Blade last wrestled and four months since he competed for AEW/ROH. During a virtual signing for K & S WrestleFest, he stated that he is currently on injury reserve due to a back injury.
The Blade shared that he is still with AEW and is hopeful to return to action in a couple of months before AEW All In. While he hasn’t undergone surgery yet, it remains a possibility as he continues to recover from his back injury.
”I’m just on injury reserve right now but yes, still with the company (AEW).
I’m hoping so (to be back before All In). My back’s bad. It’s slowly but surely getting better but I’m hoping to be back in a couple months and I hope to be back by then… A lot of wear and tear… Might be (having surgery). That’s what we’re in the midst of right now.”
The Blade’s last match took place in February for Ethan Page’s Alpha-1 promotion. The Blade has been absent from broadcasts of both AEW and ROH since January 10, 2024, when he appeared at an ROH event in Jacksonville. We’ll have to see if he can return before Alll In, which will take place in August.
