WWE RAW star IYO Sky made headlines after her surprise video appearance at the latest Marigold show. The Damage CTRL member was announced as the opponent for Utami Hayashishita at the upcoming Summer Destiny event on July 13.

Many fans, including Utami herself, were shocked by IYO Sky’s involvement in the match. Moreover, WWE’s announcement of a partnership with Marigold is already yielding positive results for the upcoming company in the world of professional wrestling.

Marigold’s Rossy Ogawa took to his X to discuss the upcoming match featuring the former WWE Women’s Champion, noting that ticket sales spiked by 600 within a day of the announcement, being a major statement to IYO Sky’s popularity and credibility as an in-ring performer.

“Inviting a superstar from the world’s largest organization has highlighted Marigold’s significance on a global scale. Within one day of announcing IYO’s participation, 600 more tickets were sold. The match between Utami and IYO is a strong contender for the best match of the year.”

IYO Sky’s match in Marigold will take place just one week after the WWE Money in the Bank PLE, which is set to take place in Toronto, Canada, on July 6. IYO will be part of the name-sake ladder match after winning triple threat match on RAW this week to qualify. I am possibly looking to create history by becoming the first woman to win back-to-back Money in the Bank ladder match.
