The New Day is widely recognized as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history, and their achievements make it easy to understand why. However, there is speculation about them breaking up, especially after the events of RAW this week.

When the New Day made their debut as a group, they were initially heels but were eventually turned into babyfaces due to their rise in popularity. Prior to that, none of the members had a solid run in WWE. Even then, discussions have always been made about them potentially breaking up.

During the June 17th edition of Monday Night RAW, Karrion Kross and Scarlett delivered a promo addressing their recent encounters with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Kross mentioned contemplating something drastic, but Scarlett suggested a less extreme approach that wouldn’t land him in jail. Kross then issued a challenge to either Kingston or Woods for a match with no one at ringside, expressing his hope that Kingston would accept, but implying that Kingston would prefer Woods to stay in the back.

In response, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods cut a promo from their locker room. Kingston stated that they are the greatest tag team of all time and questioned Kross’s authority to give them advice. Woods began to address Kross’s challenge, but Kingston interrupted, declaring that since Kross specifically called him out, he would accept the challenge.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the aforementioned segment with The New Day and speculated that WWE was going to break them up.

“I guess they are going to break up The New Day. I mean, nothing lasts forever in WWE. Here’s the problem though. If you break them up, neither of them are going to do much.”

Big E also previously addressed adding more members to the faction. Nevertheless, we will have to wait and see whether The New Day will finally break up nine years after they started working together.
