The June 18 edition of WWE NXT kicked off on a high note with a high-stakes melee that featured the surprise appearance of popular TNA star Joe Hendry. The explosive start signalled a great show ahead and set the tone for the festivities next week.

During the 25-man battle royal that started tonight’s NXT show, one-half of the NXT tag team champion, Nathan Frazer, eliminated the Heritage Cup holder, Tony D’Angelo. This has set the stage for D’Angelo to exact revenge by putting up his title against Frazer next week.

Following Kelani Jordan’s first successful NXT Women’s North American Title defence, other superstars threw their names as her next challengers. Among those, Sol Ruca and Arianna Grace will now compete in a one-on-one match to lay their claim at a possible future title shot on next week’s show.

Lastly, as the road to the NXT Heatwave event continues, next week’s show will feature a tag team turmoil match, with the winning team facing current tag team champions Axiom and Nathan Frazer for their titles at the show in Toronto, Canada.
