Last week on WWE NXT, the Undisputed WWE Champion announced a 25-man over-the-top-rope battle royal for tonight’s June 18 edition of NXT. The winner of the bout would receive an NXT Championship match against the champion, Trick Williams at NXT Heatwave next month.

Moreover, Rhodes also told Willams that the battle royal would see participation from multiple rosters, and his words were absolutely true. The match itself began with the grand entry of popular TNA star Joe Hendry, who had been rumoured to make his WWE appearance for weeks.

In the case of other rosters, the battle royal saw another TNA star, Frankie Kazarian, compete alongside WWE main roster members like Dragon Lee, Apollo Crews, Angel, Berto and Cruz Del Toro, all gunning for the huge title opportunity.

Following a huge melee competing inside the NXT ring, the match came down to the final two, Je’Von Evans and Dragon Lee, exchanging blows in the middle of the ring.

However, the final moments saw Shawn Spears re-emerge again, not having been eliminating and tossed Dragon Lee out instead, but found himself eliminated by Evans, who emerged as the victor and earned a major title shot against Trick Williams.
