Damian Priest won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by cashing in on Drew McIntyre, and he retained the title at Clash at The Castle with some assistance from CM Punk. With that said, WWE’s internal reaction to Priest’s performance has now been revealed as well.

During the main event match between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre at the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event, Damian Priest attempted a high-flying move to the outside on McIntyre. Unfortunately, McIntyre’s ankle got caught on the rope, leading to a moment where he nearly fell on his head, causing concern among the fans. Despite this scare, Priest ultimately secured the victory after CM Punk interfered, costing McIntyre the match.

While speaking on Fightful Select’s Backstage report, Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Damian Priest received a ton of praise for his performance at Clash at The Castle last week.

We also reported an update on Damian Priest after his injury scare. This certainly comes as no surprise considering the fact that Damian Priest wrestled the match while being hurt and even showed off some strong moves as well. Nonetheless, we’ll have to wait and see what’s next in store for the World Heavyweight Champion, as fans see him in a whole new light now following Clash at The Castle.
