AJ Styles Discloses Major Change He Would Have Made in His Feud with Edge

In 2022, fans witnessed a memorable feud between AJ Styles and Edge. Despite their high-profile matches, Styles recently disclosed a surprising change he would have made to the storyline.

Edge departed WWE in 2023 following one of his last major programs with The Phenomenal One. Early that year, Edge turned heel for the first time since 2010 after Styles accepted his open challenge for WrestleMania 38. Edge emerged victorious in their 28-minute clash at the Showcase of The Immortals, aided by Damian Priest.

Edge then formed The Judgment Day faction and continued his rivalry with Styles, defeating him at Backlash. Although Priest was banned from ringside, a masked Rhea Ripley interfered. This eventually led to the Judgment Day’s triumph over Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan at Hell In a Cell, concluding the feud.

While speaking to Inside The Ropes, Styles reflected on the Edge rivalry, acknowledging it as a dream feud for many fans. However, The Phenomenal One admitted he would have made one change to the feud, which would have seen Edge becoming a babyface.

“It was a dream feud, but in the wrong context of which it should’ve been done. Edge should have never been a heel. He wasn’t a guy that you looked at as a bad guy, so… that would be the only thing that I would change. Other than that, we had fun, but it was just a different dynamic.”

Edge is currently on the shelf after suffering a leg injury at AEW Double or Nothing while AJ Styles lost at Clash at The Castle. Regardless, fans still hope the two can revisit their feud somewhere down the line.
