Jim Ross has been the voice of several generations of fans, dedicating decades of his life to the business. He’s certainly an integral part of AEW and has now addressed possibly returning to WWE.
Earlier this year, Jim Ross inked one-year deal with the company, marking his return to an active role on the commentary team. Obviously, this made many fans happy and he even confirmed he will be part of the commentary team for pay-per-views going forward.
While speaking on his Grillin’ JR podcast, Jim Ross addressed the possibility of returning to WWE after several AEW stars have made the transition to WWE in recent years. Ross emphasized that while he never says never in the unpredictable world of professional wrestling, he currently has no plans to rejoin WWE.
“Well, you never say never. Quite frankly, you never say never, especially in a business that has so few jobs available. That’s not in my plans. They’ve gone younger.
“Could I contribute? Of course I could contribute, but that’s just not in the plans right now. I love my role (in AEW).”
Jim Ross also revealed when he plans on returning to his commentary duties after recovering from his illness. Nonetheless, Ross will be sticking with AEW for now, and that’s all that matters to him.
