The Countdown To WWE Clash At The Castle Kickoff Pre-Show opens up with Michael Cole taking us on a video tour of Scotland. We then see the arrivals of “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest to the arena.
Michael Cole then welcomes us to the show and he introduces Big E and Kevin Owens as the other members of the kickoff pre-show panel. The panel then runs down the card for tonight’s show.
We then head to the back, where Jackie Redmond talks about Piper Niven, Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre’s background in Scotland. Cathy Kelley is then shown outside of the arena with fans. The panel then talks about the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match between Drew McIntyre and World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
We then go to part one of the interview with Drew McIntyre conducted by Jackie Redmond. McIntyre is asked how much is he looking forward to coming home. McIntyre says it wasn’t a dream as a child to main event a PLE in Scotland, but it is a dream come true tonight. McIntyre then quotes the song Caledonia to talk about the experience. Redmond then asks McIntyre what memories does he have from his time in Glasgow. McIntyre says he spent four years at university and he did learn a lot. McIntyre then says he learned to always speak your mind and speak the truth and if someone goes too far, then give them a kiss between the eyes, Glasgow style. Redmond then reminds McIntyre about the match two years ago in Cardiff. McIntyre then says he never felt that much emotion from a crowd who were all in his corner. McIntyre then says Solo screwed him over and it was a shot through his and everyone’s heart. McIntyre is then asked if he is over it and he says no. McIntyre then says he doesn’t think he will ever be over it. McIntyre then mentions Jey going to RAW and he still has those issues. McIntyre then says trauma does not go away that easily. McIntyre is then asked about issues he had over the last few months, but he re-signed with the company. McIntyre says he was considering taking time off. McIntyre then mentions his sister-in-law passing and seeing family he hadn’t seen in a while. McIntyre then says he was trying to figure out what was best for his career and future. McIntyre then says they worked out a situation that allows him to give to both his family and his career. McIntyre then mentions the balance that he gets with this new deal. McIntyre is then asked about the state of WWE in 2024. McIntyre says everyone is killing it. McIntyre then says the roster is on fire and the level of in ring talent and matches are at a different level. McIntyre then says it is up to them to keep it going. McIntyre then says the only thing that needs improvement is the RAW champion.
We then see the arrival of WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn and we see Cathy Kelley with Alpha Academy (Chad Gable, Otis and Maxxine Dupri). Kelley asks about Gable falling short and not being able to win in Montreal. Gable says the family is in line and they are taking orders the right way. Gable then says they are here and they know the plan to help him win his title no matter what. Kelley then asks Dupri how she is doing. Gable then tells Kelley that Dupri is fine. Gable then asks where is Tozawa and he yells at Otis for not keeping track of him. Gable then says he will pay on Monday. We then get a video package on the match. Big E picks Gable to win, while Owens says he has to pick Sami.
We then take a look at a Darts Challenge with two of the top dart players and Pretty Deadly with guest star William Regal.
We then get a video package and a panel discussion on the Undisputed WWE Championship “I Quit” Match and Kevin Owens pick AJ Styles to win, while Big E picks Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes to retain.
We then get a video package on Scotland’s own Piper Niven. We then see the arrivals of Piper Niven and Chelsea Green at the arena.
We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley is interviewing WWE Women’s Champion Bayley. Cathy wishes Bayley a Happy Birthday and asks her about Piper having a home town advantage. Bayley says she knows how important it is to be in your home country and Piper has done so much for women’s wrestling in Scotland. Bayley then says Piper is the same person who has attacked her for the last month. Bayley then says she cares about the fans and she apologizes for beating Piper in front of her friends and family. Cathy has then Bayley send it back to Michael Cole.
We then get a video package for the WWE Women’s Title Match and Chelsea Green joins the panel and speaks about how she would be WWE Women’s Champion if Piper Niven beats Bayley. Green then says we will win the title. Owens then speaks about how he and a fellow Canadian claimed they were tag team champions. Owens then says it wasn’t true because he was the tag team champions and it ended terribly. Green then says that will not happen to her because she will be with Niven forever. Cole then kicks Green out.
We then get a video package on WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Michael Cole introduces the video by saying that Piper Niven came from the shores of the United Kingdom. Peter Rosenberg narrated the video and acknowledged that Piper was born in Canada.
Jackie Redmond then takes over as the host for the second half of the Countdown show and we go to part two of Redmond’s interview with Drew McIntyre. McIntyre is asked about what the critics are saying about him calling him a hypocrite. McIntyre then mentions Michael Cole. McIntyre then says that Cole is using a position of power that is irresponsible. McIntyre then says Cole praised him during the Pandemic, but he says it was a team effort. McIntyre then says he went down a different path and Cole is attacking him. Jackie then talks about McIntyre during the Pandemic being champion with no fans. Jackie then asks if every time McIntyre gets to lead things something happens and does it make him bitter. McIntyre then says it made him stronger and these situations would have crushed others, but he was ready for it. McIntyre then says you can put the company on his back and he will do it. McIntyre then says he did it when the world went to hell. McIntyre then says when he wins the title in Scotland it will be perfect. Jackie then asks McIntyre about Damian Priest. McIntyre says he saw a man with a huge upside. McIntyre then says he knows what Priest had to overcome to get where he is. McIntyre then says there are times when Priest is playing the role of a champion. McIntyre then says that Priest is trying for a buzz and cheap pop and not put the focus in the right place. McIntyre then says he will embarrass Priest. McIntyre then says he has been in WWE longer and he will pass Priest. McIntyre then says they are both driven, but his resume is so much longer than Priest’s. Jackie then asks about the match and McIntyre says it will be epic as one of their own will become champion.
We then get a video package on the history of British wrestling narrated by William Regal.
We then see the arrivals of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn at the arena and Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler walking in the parking lot. We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley says she was hoping to talk to WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. Kelley then mentions that Cargill lost her bags on the trip to Scotland.
We then get a video package of Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn speaking about wrestling in Scotland.
We then get a video package on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match.
We then get a video package and a panel discussion on ECW.
Peter Rosenberg then joins the panel to discuss the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match between Drew McIntyre and World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and we get a video package on Drew’s return to Scotland.
We then get a video package and a panel discussion on the Undisputed WWE Championship “I Quit” Match.
Cathy Kelley now makes her way to the entrance aisle and she mentions how far some people have travelled to the show.
We then see separate shots of Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles dressed in their gear while walking backstage as their match will open the show and the Countdown To WWE Clash At The Castle Kickoff Pre-Show comes to a close.
WWE Clash At The Castle opens up with Michael Cole speaking while video footage of fans entering the venue was shown. We then get separate shots of Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles from earlier in the day, along with the arrivals of WWE Women’s Champion Bayley, Piper Niven, Chelsea Green, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre.
We then get a video package of WWE Clash At The Castle and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show, alongside Corey Graves and Wade Barrett and Cole announces a sold-out crowd of 11,391.
We then get the entrances of the first match, which is an Undisputed WWE Championship “I Quit” Match.
The match starts off with Rhodes hitting a flurry of right hands on Styles. Rhodes then hits a powerslam on Styles. Rhodes then goes for a disaster kick, but Styles reverses it into a Manhattan drop. Styles then sends Rhodes into the turnbuckle chest first. Rhodes then escapes a slam from Styles and hits him with a few jabs. Rhodes then hits the bionic elbow on Styles. Rhodes then knocks Styles off the apron. The referee then asks Styles if he quits and Styles tells the referee to get away from him. Rhodes then pulls a table from under the ring. Styles then gets to his feet while Rhodes sets up the table. Rhodes then sends Styles into the ring step. The referee then asks Styles if he quits and Styles says no. Rhodes then runs Styles into the barricade, sending Styles into the crowd.
Rhodes then hits an axhandle on Styles off the barricade. Styles and Rhodes then fights into the crowd. Rhodes and Styles then fights into the control room backstage. Styles then chokes Rhodes with a headphone cord. Styles and Rhodes then fight out onto the stage area. As the fight spills back into the ring, Rhodes puts Styles in the figure four. Styles then screams in pain as the referee asks him if he quits. Rhodes then yells ask him as Styles tries to crawl to the ropes. Styles then manages to get to the bottom rope to break the hold. Rhodes then goes for a suplex, but Styles reverses it into a suplex of his own, sending both men tumbling over the top rope. Rhodes then struggles to get to his feet. Styles then hits a DVD on Rhodes on the commentary desk. Styles then picks Rhodes up and hits him with a brainbuster on the commentary desk. Rhodes then refuses to quit. Styles then uses the mic the referee is holding as a weapon, hitting Rhodes on the head with it. Styles then slams Rhodes’ head into the ring bell. Rhodes’ Mother is then shown in the crowd. Styles then trash-talks her while she screams back at him and it is shown that Rhodes’ head is busted open. Styles then works over Rhodes. The referee then asks Rhodes if he quits and Rhodes says absolutely not. Styles is livid as Rhodes refuses to give up. Rhodes and Styles then trade punches. Rhodes then hits the ropes and runs right into a high-angle dropkick to the face from Styles. Styles then sets up a Styles Clash on the ring steps, but Rhodes counters it into a back body drop.
After an exchange of strikes, Rhodes hits Styles with a disaster kick. Styles then knees his way out of Crossroads and nails Rhodes with a Pelé kick. Styles then hits a DDT on Rhodes and Rhodes refuses to quit. Styles then continues his assault on Rhodes. Styles then wraps a chair around Rhodes’ neck. The crowd then boos as Styles drops a knee on the chair, crushing Rhodes’ throat and Rhodes emphatically refuses to quit. Styles then brings a kendo stick into the ring. Rhodes then stumbles around the ring as Styles wears him out with the kendo stick. Styles then holds Rhodes’ head in the air and demands Rhodes quit while he’s staring at his mother. Rhodes then screams hell no and Styles takes off his belt and whips Rhodes with it. Styles then puts Rhodes in an STF and Styles tells Rhodes to quit in front of his mother. Rhodes then says no and passes out. Styles then tells the referee to call the match and the referee tells Styles that Rhodes has to say he quits, but Rhodes it out cold. Styles then pours a water bottle on Rhodes and tells him to wake up. Styles then brings a pair of handcuffs from under the ring. Rhodes then writhes in pain as Styles hits him with the kendo stick, but Rhodes still won’t quit. Styles then rolls out of the ring and gets in Rhodes’ mother’s face. Rhodes’ mother then slaps Styles in the face three times. Styles then grabs a chair and bows up to Rhodes’ mother. Styles then hits Rhodes with the chair several times, yelling that it’s his mother’s fault. Rhodes then grabs a chair while Styles wraps a chain around his elbow. Styles then goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Rhodes tosses a chair in Styles’ face as he springboards and Styles falls through a table. Rhodes then finds the handcuff key in the bag the handcuffs were in and uncuffs himself. Rhodes then hits 3 Crossroads in a row as the referee motions towards Styles. Rhodes then tells the referee not to ask Styles if he quits. Rhodes then handcuffs Styles to the ropes and nails him with a steel chair. The referee then asks Styles if he quits and Styles tells Rhodes to go screw himself. Rhodes then brings the ring steps in the ring and as he walks towards a still handcuffed Styles, Styles quits.

After the match, Rhodes and his mother lock eyes. Rhodes then blasts Styles with a nasty shot to the head with the ring steps. As Rhodes is celebrating on the ramp, Solo Sikoa makes his way out and stands next to Rhodes. Rhodes and Sikoa then stare each other down. Tama Tonga then attacks Rhodes from behind and Randy Orton and Kevin Owens make the save.
We then get a video package and the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match.
The match starts off with Belair, Baszler and Dawn. Dawn hits a dropkick and Belair hits the corner ten punches on Baszler. Dawn then charges in and Belair backflips over Dawn. Dawn then spears Baszler and Belair hits the Superstar Press. Everyone then tags out and Fyre and Stark nail Cargill with kicks. Stark and Fyre then both put top wrist locks on Cargill, but Cargill powers out. Cargill then hits splashes on Frye and Stark. Fyre then goes up top, but Cargill cuts her off and lifts her in a Gorilla press position. Stark then charges in and gets caught by Cargill. Cargill then hits the Samoan drop on Fyre while hitting the fallaway slam on Stark. Belair and Cargill then destroy all the other women. Baszler, Stark, Fyre and Dawn then huddle outside the ring. All four women then attack Belair and Cargill. Stark then blindsides Dawn. Baszler and Stark then take turns working over Dawn. Baszler and Stark then set up their finish on Dawn. Dawn then back body drops Stark and runs over Baszler. Fyre then hits a tornado DDT. Stark and Baszler then end up outside the ring. Fyre then hits a double jump senton, landing on Baszler and Stark. Belair then breaks up Fyre’s pin after a missile dropkick on Baszler. Fyre then sends Belair out of the ring again.
Cargill is nowhere to be found. Baszler then avoids Dawn, who ends up being sent to the ring post. Stark and Baszler then set up a superplex on Fyre, but Dawn turns it into a tower of doom. Belair then hits a superplex on Stark. Cargill then finally makes her way back up to the apron. Belair then manages to tag in Cargill and Cargill goes for a springboard, but slips on the ropes. Cargill then recovers and clears the ring. Baszler then puts Cargill in the Kirifuda Clutch. Cargill then seems to tap, but the referee doesn’t see it. Cargill then collapses. As Cargill and Baszler are on the mat, Belair hits a 450 to break up the pin. Belair and Cargill then hit their finish on Stark. Dawn then pushes Cargill out of the ring as Fyre holds Belair and Dawn steals the pin.

After the match, Fyre and Dawn make their way to ringside and celebrates with their friends and family, who gives them each a bouquet of flowers. Fyre was emotional while Cole mentions that it has been a tough three weeks for her. Fyre and Dawn then returns to the ring and soaks in the adulation of the fans.
We then get a video package and the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE Intercontinental Championship Match.
The match starts off with Zayn and Gable trading headlocks and takedowns. Zayn then sends Gable flying with a series of hip tosses. Gable then puts on the brakes and almost locks in the Ankle Lock and Zayn gets to the ropes immediately. Zayn then sends Gable over the top. Gable then moves as Zayn sets up a dive. Zayn then backflips off the ropes back into the ring. Gable then tells Otis and Maxxine to remember what he said. Zayn then rolls out of the ring and tells Otis he’s better than this. Zayn then rolls back into the ring. Gable and Zayn then trade slaps. Gable then puts Zayn into the Ankle Lock and Zayn gets to the ropes. Gable then kicks Zayn’s arm and refocuses his attack on Zayn’s now injured appendage. Zayn then tries to rally back and hits a flurry of chops and strikes on Gable. Zayn then leapfrogs over Gable and clotheslines him over the top. Gable then gets to his feet as Zayn hits him with an Arabian press. Zayn then sends Gable back into the ring and tries a dive off the top. Gable then meets Zayn in midair with a dropkick and Zayn kicks out. Gable then hits the ropes and gets hit with an one-armed Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Zayn then goes for the blue thunder bomb, but Gable reverses it and hits a powerbomb. Gable then hits a diving headbutt on Zayn and Zayn kicks out. Zayn then hits a series of German suplexes on Gable and Gable tries to counter. After trading counters, Zayn hits Gable with a half-nelson suplex and Gable kicks out. Gable then puts Zayn in the crossface. Zayn then reverses it into a crossface of his own and Gable reverses that into an Ankle Lock.
Zayn then turns it into a pin, but Gable kicks out. Gable then places Zayn on the second rope and tells Maxxine to hit Zayn with the title, but Maxxine doesn’t want to do it. Gable was then furious at Dupri and told her to join him on the apron. Gable then told Dupri that he is sick of her never listening. Zayn then goes for a Helluva Kick, but Gable avoids it. Zayn then stops from hitting the move and checks on Dupri. Gable then hits the Chaos Theory on Zayn for a near fall. Gable then goes to ringside to scold Dupri. Otis then gets between them and goes face-to-face with Gable. Zayn then dives from the ring and Otis shoves Gable out of the way and takes the move himself. Zayn then avoids a move from Gable and hits him with an exploder suplex. Zayn then goes for a Helluva Kick, but Gable rolls to the floor. Zayn then follows Gable and was put in an ankle lock on the floor. Zayn then rolls out of the move, which sends Gable crashing into the bad leg of Dupri and Otis was mad. Gable then returns to the ring and starts bickering with the referee, hoping Otis would attack Zayn. Otis was distracted by Dupri and picks up Dupri. Gable then yells at Otis from the ring. Otis then carries Dupri to the back. Zayn then returns to the ring and hits Gable with a Helluva Kick for the win.

After the match, Zayn celebrates outside the ring as Gable gives him a death stare. Zayn then looks at Gable and does the “It’s over” gesture.
We then head to the back, where Cathy Kelley interviews the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. Fyre and Dawn speak about winning the titles and having all of Scotland behind them. Dawn then says they plan on keeping the titles for a long time.
We then get a video package and the entrances of the next match, which is a WWE Women’s Championship Match.
The match starts off with the fight spilling out of the ring. Niven misses a crossbody and Bayley sends Niven back into the ring. Green then tries to grab Bayley’s leg and Bayley stomps on Green’s hand. Green then jumps on the apron and complains to the referee about what just happened. The referee then tosses Green from ringside. Niven then hits a senton on Bayley off the apron. Niven then hits a running senton on Bayley and goes for a pin, but Bayley kicks out. Niven then works over Bayley and Bayley sends Niven out of the ring. Bayley then hits a dive on Niven, but Niven drives Bayley into the ring apron. Bayley then hits a rolling senton on Niven off the top. Bayley then goes back up top and hits an elbow drop on Niven, but Niven kicks out. Niven then hits Bayley with a sit down. Niven then hits Bayley with another running senton and Bayley kicks out.
A masked luchadora, who just so happens to be dressed just like Chelsea Green, then makes her way out and distracts the referee, which keeps him from making the three count. Niven then hits a Piper Driver on Bayley for a near fall. Bayley then avoids a senton splash. Bayley then goes for her finisher, but Niven avoids it and hits Bayley with a headbutt. Bayley then outs Niven in a crucifix position. Bayley then puts Niven into a pin using a crucifix driver and gets the three count.

After the match, Bayley gives Niven a nod from ringside and the crowd applauds Niven.
The reigning World’s Strongest Man Tom Stoltman was then shown in the crowd.
Michael Cole then hypes the Clash at the Castle post-show with Paul Levesque and other WWE stars.
We then get an ad for Money in the Bank and Michael Cole says the Money in the Bank qualifying matches will start on Monday’s RAW.
We then get a video package and the entrances of the main event, which is a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match.
The match starts off with McIntyre sending Priest over the top rope with a clothesline. McIntyre then hits a dive on Priest. McIntyre then delivers some chops on Priest on the outside. Priest then nails McIntyre with an elbow. McIntyre then hits a chop on Priest. Priest then responds with a right hand and hits the ropes, but he gets blasted with a spinebuster by McIntyre. McIntyre then misses a charge in the corner and Priest hits a splash on McIntyre in the corner and follows it up with a broken arrow, but McIntyre kicks out. McIntyre then tries to get back in the match and Priest rolls out of the ring. McIntyre then sends Priest into the commentary desk. Before Priest can collect himself, McIntyre sends him into the Prime Energy Drink set up at ringside. Priest then goes for the Sky walker press, but his foot gets caught in the ropes. McIntyre then stomps Priest while he’s hanging upside down and Priest gets free. McIntyre then suplexes Priest back into the ring. Priest then nails McIntyre with a lariat and goes for the South of Heaven. McIntyre then avoids it and hits Priest with a Future Shock DDT, but Priest kicks out. McIntyre then runs into a boot from Priest and Priest hits McIntyre with the Razor’s Edge. McIntyre then kicks out and McIntyre and Priest trade shots.
McIntyre then hits a neck breaker on Priest and calls for the Claymore. Priest then rolls out of the ring and McIntyre hits the Claymore Kick on Priest through the barricade. McIntyre then rolls Priest back into the ring. McIntyre then calls for another Claymore, but Priest reverses it into the South of Heaven and McIntyre kicks out. Priest then favors his ankle while he sets up for a Hurricanrana off the top rope. McIntyre then gets up and hits a Claymore out of nowhere, but Priest kicks out and McIntyre is shocked. McIntyre then hits an overhead throw on Priest and the referee ducks out of the ring to avoid getting run over. As the referee gets back on the apron, McIntyre sends Priest into the referee. McIntyre then hits another Claymore on Priest, but there is no referee to make the count. A referee then runs down to the ring to make the count and as he counts to two the referee stops. The camera then pans around and it’s CM Punk in a referee shirt. McIntyre then grabs Punk by the throat, but Punk kicks McIntyre in the balls. The real referee then gets back in the ring and Priest hits McIntyre with the South of Heaven for the win.

After the match, Priest speaks to McIntyre while both men were down. Punk then finds some fans wearing his t-shirt and stands by them. Priest then holds up his championship while McIntyre is still down. Priest then limps as he holds up his title while walking toward the back. Graves then says Monday night will be must see TV. A video package then recaps the event and the show comes to a close.
