Drew McIntyre Says The Rock Gave Thoughtful Gift Based on WrestleMania 40 Conversation

Drew McIntyre’s WWE contract was up for renewal, sparking uncertainty about his future. He would end up signing a long-term contract with the company earlier this year and this was announced by The Rock. With that said, McIntyre has now stated that The Rock gave him a thoughtful gift based on a conversation they had at WrestleMania 40.

The Rock had announced Drew McIntyre had signed a new contract with WWE and then sent him sword in a touching video. Naturally, fans were happy to see what The Rock did as well.

While speaking to Daily Mail, Drew McIntyre reflected on the moment and expressed surprise at the gesture, noting how he had previously labeled The Rock as someone who keeps his promises. The exchange stemmed from a conversation they had at WrestleMania 40, where they had a positive talk. McIntyre recalled the reaction in the locker room when The Rock appeared, joking about the surprise among other talent.

Their chat at WrestleMania wasn’t just a brief encounter either; McIntyre mentioned The Rock always being there for advice and being a mentor. During one conversation, McIntyre casually mentioned his interest in redecorating his office and admiring The Rock’s sword. The Rock, without much thought, gave a very positive response, promising to arrange for one. McIntyre thought it was just a random remark amidst The Rock’s busy schedule, which is why he didn’t expect anything to come of it.

However, to McIntyre’s surprise, The Rock followed through on his promise. A sword made its way to the Scottish Warrior, accompanied by a thoughtful note which McIntyre chose not to disclose. This gesture reinforced McIntyre’s view of The Rock as a man true to his word, making it clear the two share a special bond.

”It was not expected,’ McIntyre said of the gift. ‘If you see the video I say ‘you’re a man of your word, he remembered’ – it was based on a conversation we had at WrestleMania, we had a really nice chat. 

‘In the locker room I remember everyone’s head turning like ‘why is The Rock in our locker room?!’ [laughs]. We had a great chat. He’s always there for the advice. I mentioned redecorating my office, I don’t bring the sword to the ring anymore. 

 ‘If it’s a special occasion, yes, but I did say I would like one of those for my office wall. He was like ‘I’ll make that happen.’ Just a passing comment, ‘I’ll make that happen’. 

‘I never thought anything of it, I thought clearly he won’t remember that, he’s way too busy. Sure enough, I had a business meeting with Nick and the sword turned up with a very nice note – I’ll never reveal what it said – but yeah, he is a man of his word.”

Currently, Drew McIntyre is slated to face current World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest at the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle event on June 15th at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. Therefore, it is certain The Rock will be cheering on The Scottish Warrior in the highly anticipated match.
