WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is one of the biggest and most influential names in the pro wrestling business, but he isn’t without his fair share of controversies as well. Many feel that his troubled past concerning racism has ultimately led to his downfall and now it appears a former WWE star has defended Hogan against racism allegations.

In 2015, Hulk Hogan’s reputation was severely damaged when tapes of his racist remarks were made public. The release of these tapes caused a significant scandal, one from which Hogan has not fully recovered.

The controversial recording was made by his former friend Todd Clem, also known as Bubba the Love Sponge. In the tape, Hogan repeatedly used racial slurs while talking about his daughter Brooke’s ex-boyfriend.

Following the incident, Hogan issued an apology for his comments and filed a lawsuit against the media outlet Gawker for publishing portions of the tape. This scandal led to WWE releasing him in 2015 and temporarily erasing him from their history.

Recently, WrestleFeatures took to Twitter and pointed out that Hulk Hogan wants to run for President. However, the Twitter account ended up calling Hogan a known racist as well. Interestingly enough, former WWE star Val Venis took to Twitter and came to Hulk Hogan’s aid and defended Hogan against these racism allegations, as he branded WrestleFeatures as morons.

@WrestleFeatures takes a sledgehammer to his/her credibility. These wannabe journalists are lying morons. @HulkHogan is not a racist like wf claims. The man is a sinner as are the rest of us. But he also accepted Jesus Christ as his savior. #FactsMatter #SavedByGrace”

Hulk Hogan will always remain one of the biggest names in the pro wrestling world, but that doesn’t mean his reputation has a few black spots. Nonetheless, Hogan has promised to be a better person and that’s all that matters.

Do you believe Hulk Hogan is racist or the allegations are purely baseless? Let us know in the comments section below!
