Cody Rhodes is one of WWE’s top babyfaces and his biggest feud so far has been with AJ Styles, which began before Backlash this year. After a fake retirement from Styles, Rhodes ultimately accepted to face Styles in an ‘I Quit’ match at Clash at The Castle.

One of the key matches of the Clash at The Castle Premium Live Event saw Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against The Phenomenal AJ Styles in an ‘I Quit’ match.

The match was certainly a lengthy one with many inventive spots, as AJ Style was determined to make The American Nightmare say ‘I quit’ and become the new champion in the end. This includes AJ Styles making Cody Rhodes bleed for the first time in ages, which shocked fans.

AJ Styles used belts, handcuffs, kendo sticks and everything but the kitchen sink to beat up Cody Rhodes. Cody Rhodes would then turn the tide and ended up making Styles bleed and handcuffed him as well.

In the end, when all was said and done, it was Cody Rhodes who picked up the win by making his adversary say ‘I quit’ while threatening to hit AJ Styles with the steel steps and successfully retained his title. Afterwards, Cody Rhodes ended up hitting Styles with the steps anyway.

Fans now wonder what’s next in store for Cody Rhodes, as there is a chance of Rhodes facing off against Solo Sikoa soon now that he has conquered AJ Styles. We’ll have to see what WWE has planned for him in the end.
