The show opens up with Michael Cole welcoming us. Cole then introduces WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Triple H makes his way out.
The fans then sing along with Triple H’s entrance music. “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre is then mentioned and the fans start chanting for CM Punk. Michael Cole then says it’s all thanks to Triple H that WWE is hosting these shows in Scotland, but Triple H says it’s because of the fans. Michael Cole then says we’re in the Triple H era and Triple H says it’s a new era because of the fans. Triple H then asks the crowd “are you ready” before leaving.
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles then makes his way out. Cole asks Styles what he thinks of the new partnership between WWE and TNA. Styles says that if he was in charge, he would do the exact same thing. Cole then asks Styles what he’ll do if he says “I Quit” tomorrow. The crowd then starts chanting TNA, but Styles just says he’ll cross that bridge if it happens. Styles then says he’ll be the next Undisputed WWE Champion and leaves.
Cole introduces Undisputed WWE Champion “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and Rhodes makes his way out. Rhodes says WWE is internally monitoring if Scotland can be as loud as France, which prompts the fans to make even more noise. Rhodes also brings up the fact that his mother is in Scotland with him. Cole then asks Rhodes if he has it in him to be vicious enough and be willing to break the rules in an “I Quit” Match and Rhodes asks the crowd if they think he’s capable of doing that, which the crowd says yes to. Rhodes then asks Scotland if they should have another PLE in their country and the crowd cheers. Rhodes then ends his segment and leaves the stage.
One of Scotland’s very own in Piper Niven then makes her way out. Cole asks Niven what there is to do in her hometown of Kilbirnie and Niven says there’s nothing, but it has a Tesco. The crowd then starts a Tesco chant. Niven then talks about her history in Scottish wrestling and says wrestling in Japan was a cakewalk because Scottish wrestling was so brutal and she had already gone through that. WWE Women’s Champion Bayley then makes her way out and she gets in the face of Niven. Bayley and Niven then have a little bit of trash talk and verbal exchanges and Niven drinks some Irn Bru.
“The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre then makes his way out and fans starts chanting for CM Punk, but there is also a good number of fans chanting for McIntyre.
McIntyre starts a “Here we, here we, here we f***ing go chant”, which Cole quickly wraps up by asking McIntyre if he truly has his eye on the ball this weekend. McIntyre says his wife is in emergency surgery and won’t be able to be there to watch him tomorrow and he is going to bring the WWE World Heavyweight Title home for her. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest then comes out and starts speaking Spanish, then says the crowd isn’t hostile as it’s just a bunch of kids booing. The fans then call Priest a wanker. After a tense back-and-forth between McIntyre and Priest, McIntyre says a line from his theme song. McIntyre says, “I dream broken dreams. I make them come true. And tomorrow night, I’m gonna make them for you”. The Clash at the Castle Kickoff show then comes to a close.
