Reason Behind AEW Star’s Backstage Visit During 6/11 NXT Revealed

WWE and AEW have been fierce competitors since AEW’s establishment in 2019. Despite this rivalry, many superstars from both promotions are known to visit each other’s shows. On the June 11th edition of NXT, AEW star Rebel was spotted backstage. The reason for her presence has now been revealed.

Rebel has been a regular presence on AEW television but has been absent from TV recently. Previous reports indicated that Rebel is still under contract with AEW. Despite her absence from backstage, she has mentioned her willingness to return to television if given the opportunity.

Recently, it was reported that Rebel was seen at the June 11 NXT tapings. However, the specific reason for her presence there was unknown at the time.

Fightful Select reports that when inquiring about Rebel’s presence at the tapings, NXT sources indicated that Rebel was visiting friends and has a personal connection to someone working in NXT.

It is understandable now why Rebel was backstage at NXT this past week and perhaps she might pay a visit again in the future. Regardless, we’ll have to see if she will ever return to AEW television again, as she hasn’t been seen since 2022.
