Moose has been a standout performer in Impact Wrestling since his debut in 2016. Recently, he disclosed his plans for retirement from professional wrestling and it’s a surprising age.

Moose, currently the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion at the age of 40, has set a retirement timeline for himself. During a K&S WrestleFest signing, he revealed that he plans to retire from professional wrestling at the age of 45, giving himself about five more years in the ring.

“I want to retire when I’m 45, so a good five years. There’s a lot of gas [in the tank]. Just because I’m retiring at 45, I’m still gonna have a full tank. I just want to live life and enjoy things that I never got to do.”

Despite his retirement plans, Moose emphasized that he still has plenty of energy and passion left in him. He mentioned that even after retiring at 45, he intends to keep active and enjoy life, possibly taking a hiatus from wrestling for two to three years to travel and explore places he hasn’t had the chance to visit.

“I want to travel and go to places I never had the chance to go and actually leave the hotel and do things. So yeah, I might not retire for good, but I’m going to take a good two, three years off at 45.”

Moose signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling last year and the contract is for five years, so it is likely once his contract ends, Moose will hang up his pro wrestling boots for good and enjoy a life in retirement, something that fans feel he will more than deserve.
