Logan Paul’s foray into professional wrestling and his unexpected success have surprised many, but it shouldn’t be forgotten he has experience in the world of professional boxing as well. In fact, Paul offered to substitute for Mike Tyson in the fight against Jake Paul.
Amid uncertainty over Jake Paul’s boxing match against Mike Tyson, reports suggest the influencer is exploring alternative bouts for this summer. Alongside discussions involving UFC fighter Sean O’Malley, Logan Paul floated an intriguing idea on his Impaulsive podcast, revealing that he was ready to take Tyson’s place in the boxing bout.
“I was willing to step in for Mike Tyson, when Tyson got sick,” Paul said. “We actually ran it up the chain at Netflix.”
If the Paul brothers were to face off in the ring, it would mark their first official fight. Logan clarified they never fought growing up, although he once punched Jake for taking his glasses. Paul indicated that a Netflix paycheck could sway them to make the match happen.
“Me and Jake decided that, obviously we both come from a place of love, and whatever the outcome would be, we’d have to be okay with it,” Paul continued. “But obviously I love my brother.”
Recently, Tyson’s bout with Jake was postponed due to a flare-up of an ulcer during a flight, halting his training. The status of the match remains uncertain, yet Netflix has slated the boxing special for Friday, November 15. It remains to be seen whether Logan Paul might still have an opportunity to take Mike Tyson’s place in the end.
