The depth of talent under Tony Khan’s stewardship has presented both opportunities and challenges, with numerous wrestlers finding it difficult to secure television time on AEW. This situation even extended to Brock Anderson, who departed from AEW last year. Recently, Arn Anderson discussed his son’s move to WWE
Brock Anderson signed a deal with Tony Khan back in 2022 but was rarely used on AEW television. His most notable appearance was his squash match against Malakai Black last year.
As previously reported, Brock Anderson was removed from AEW’s roster page back in October last year. This did not come as a surprise to many, either. Brock Anderson would then comment on his departure as well.
While speaking on the ARN Podcast, Anderson discussed his son’s potential future in professional wrestling, including the possibility of joining WWE. He emphasized the importance of having solid fundamentals and ring experience before considering a move to WWE NXT or any major promotion. Anderson highlighted the significance of honing his son’s wrestling mechanics and expanding his strategic thinking.
Anderson added that while his son, Brock, will inevitably find his place in wrestling, there’s no rush to secure a spot with a major promotion. Instead, Anderson stressed the importance of taking the time to progress steadily and ensure that all steps are taken correctly on the path to a professional wrestling career.
“It’s probably not time yet to even consider that [whether WWE NXT could help Brock grow], but yes, of course.
“It’s also good to go in the door with all your fundamentals in line, your reps. It’s best if you can get a little ring shape in when you walk in the door, other than just [being] an athlete from a different sport walking in.
“So that’s what we’re trying to do, is just hone his mechanics and expand his thought process.
“He’ll be somewhere soon. There’s no hurry. It’s not like rush, rush, rush, [we have to] get you a spot at one of the major promotions.
“It’s just making sure you do things right on the way up. That’s what we’re looking at.”
Brock Anderson wrestled his final match in AEW in August 2023 and has since been active on the independent wrestling circuit. As for his future, only time will reveal what lies ahead for Brock Anderson in the wrestling world.
