Drew McIntyre’s social media activity has evolved into a formidable platform, marked by his sharp wit and trolling stars such as CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Despite facing challenges at WrestleMania 40, McIntyre continues to engage in good-natured banter with CM Punk. Recently, he announced his intention to cease taking jabs at Punk and instead concentrate fully on his upcoming World Title match at Clash at The Castle.

The feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk reached a boiling point at WrestleMania 40. Following McIntyre’s grueling match with Seth Rollins, Punk launched a surprise attack, blindsiding McIntyre and creating an opportunity for Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and seize the title. This shocking action not only cost McIntyre the championship but also fueled his burning desire for vengeance against Punk, igniting a deeply personal and intense rivalry between the two.

Since then, McIntyre and CM Punk have gone after each other, intensifying their feud with each passing week. McIntyre even took a page from Eminem’s book, using rap-inspired shot to further fuel the flames of their conflict. Punk also embarrassed McIntyre a few times after that.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Drew McIntyre was asked why hated CM Punk. Drew McIntyre expressed his growing realization that he had been giving CM Punk too much attention, thereby inadvertently keeping them relevant solely through his own efforts. He acknowledged the enjoyment he found in criticizing this individual on social media, noting their lack of effective comebacks and his ability to dominate even on the microphone.

McIntyre acknowledged the distraction this caused from his primary focus on world titles and his ongoing battles with other competitors like Priest. That’s why The Scottish Warrior resolved to shift his focus away from CM Punk and focus on Damian Priest.

“I’m starting to realize that I’ve given him too much attention, and I’m the only one that’s kept him relevant. So, I’m trying to ease up on that because it is fun to tear him apart on social media. He’s got zero comebacks; he knows I’ll shred him. He learned even on the microphone I shred him at his own game because in the ring—not that he ever had an athletic bone in his body in his prime—in one match, I went in there, and I genuinely can’t stand him. It’s not like I’m Daniel Day-Lewis and I’m out there like, ‘Wow, it really feels these guys don’t like each other.’ We don’t. We can’t stand each other. I targeted him, beat him up, and injured him because it was that easy, because I’m a genuine athlete.

The one thing he’s good at is those pipe bombs, and I shredded him at that too. The problem I’ve had is I can’t help myself. I don’t like him, and I’ve had so much fun just ripping people to pieces. He’s such an easy target. But I’m taking a step back because I’m keeping him relevant—that’s my fault. I’m focused on the world, I’m focused on Priest, and I’ve got to stop killing him verbally because I’m having people ask me about him every two seconds. As fun as it is, screw him. I’m focusing on the world title.”

Drew McIntyre has also pledged to grant CM Punk a title shot once he reclaims the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at The Castle. The anticipated clash between CM Punk and The Scottish Warrior promises to be a blockbuster showdown, with fans eagerly awaiting the moment when these two rivals finally collide in what is sure to be a highly anticipated and lucrative match.
