Mercedes Mone has been part of the AEW family since March after debuting at Big Business, and she wasted no time becoming a massive star there. She has many supporters, including the likes of Bayley, and it appears Bayley believes it’s better for Mone to be in AEW.

Bayley and Mercedes Mone were both fierce rivals and close allies during their time together in WWE. They traded championships and achieved success as a tag team. When Mone returned to wrestling outside WWE in early 2023, Bayley expressed that she had begged her friend to come back to WWE so they could compete together again, but that never happened.

During a conversation with Denise Salcedo, Bayley shared her excitement as a fan to see Mone’s career progress and admitted it was somewhat weird not to have her wrestle in the same company. However, she then admitted that it’s better for Mone to be in AEW so that both she and Mone can grow together and separately.

“I’m so excited to see her take this to the next level. As much as I miss having her here, wrestling to me still feels weird without her, but it’s like I have her in a different way where I can tell her what’s going on here and what I need help with and what I’m trying to do to make it better over here, and the same goes for her. It’s kinda nice that we’re able to help and grow in two different companies and separately. In a way, it’s kind of better.”

“I’m so proud of her just for taking that leap and taking a chance on herself, and she has so much to offer the world, and there’s just so much more that she’s gonna be able to do. I’m really excited to watch her. Now I just get to be a fan. Can’t be her tag partner anymore, but now I get to be a fan.”

Bayley also celebrated with Mercedes Mone after the latter’s TBS Championship win at AEW Double or Nothing. Regardless, Bayley will also support her friend no matter what and that’s all that matters.
