Tony Schiavone Goes Off at Producers of ‘Who Killed WCW?’

The much anticipated ‘Who Killed WCW?’ documentary has started streaming on Vice TV and the reaction to the show seems tremendous. With the first two episodes out for watching, the show has got a set of mixed reactions and reviews. However, some names couldn’t care less about the show.

The producers of the show include Dwyane Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and the creators of ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ show. The voice of WCW and currently AEW, Tony Schiavone, has opened up about his thoughts on the new documentary streaming on Vice TV. 

During a recent appearance on the ‘What Happened When? podcast, the legend stated about his hatred for the creators of the ‘Dark Side of the Ring’ show, making the new documentary completely negative for him. 

“The authority is the death of WCW. That program that’s out now, that’s the ultimate authority on everything. Those guys who produce that know everything about wrestling. They’re the smartest men in America, they know more about wrestling than I ever did, so who am I to talk bad about them? … F*** ’em.”

A few days ago, Tony Schiavone commented on the reason he was not going to tune in to the new show. The legend stated that the creators of the ‘Dark Side of Ring’ show didn’t have any respect for the wrestling industry, the one that provided them with a plethora of opportunities. 

“I have watched some of the ‘Dark Side of the Ring,’ but I won’t watch that. Because I know what it is — it’s a hatchet job. I see these people talking to the camera in ‘Dark Side of the Ring,’ and I’m going, ‘What are we doing? Have some freaking respect for the business that paid you a lot of money.”

As “Who Killed WCW?” continues to make waves, it remains a hot topic within the wrestling community. While the documentary has received both praise and criticism, it undeniably sparks important conversations about the rise and fall of one of wrestling’s most iconic promotions.
