WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry commands respect throughout the pro wrestling world. He is also very proud of his son’s wrestling achievements, and it’s no surprise that he claimed his son’s pro wrestling ability is already on the same level as the top NXT stars.
Mark Henry’s son, Jacob, is gaining recognition in amateur wrestling, securing notable victories outside of the pro wrestling ring. Given his considerable talent in amateur wrestling, fans speculate that he might follow in his father’s footsteps and become a professional wrestler.
In a recent appearance on the Recap Rewind Relive podcast, Mark Henry discussed how his son, Jacob, has already surpassed some talents in NXT in terms of skill and is on par with the elite in NXT. Henry also shared his belief that the 18-year-old prodigy could potentially achieve more success than he did if he pursues a career as a WWE Superstar.
“I can tell you right now, I would put his wrestling acumen up there with everybody at the top at NXT. His understanding and knowledge of the force if you will, for lack of a better term, is on a scale of one to 100, Jacob is probably about 85 in his understanding and knowledge. And that’s 18 to turning 19-year-old kid, so when he gets 21, 23 somewhere in there whenever he decides to become a professional wrestler, he’s going to be elite.”
“He’s already physically there. He’s more than mentally there. He just have [sic] to put the work in and practice the actual business of pro wrestling. He realizes what it is to be a professional already because he sees his father’s example. He won’t make the mistakes that I made. He’ll be better than me.”
Mark Henry also previously expressed his excitement about his son being chosen for the University of Oklahoma’s wrestling team. The potential for Mark Henry’s son to enter professional wrestling remains uncertain. Given his father’s influence, there’s a chance he may seek guidance to enter the industry someday. The future will reveal whether Jacob Henry becomes a significant figure in pro wrestling.
