Jack Perry Downplays Wrestling Industry Importance After 6/12 AEW Dynamite Win

Jack Perry’s transition to NJPW was met with awe as he stunned fans with his performances as the Scapegoat and his character has gone through even more evolution after turning to AEW. After his major win on Dynamite this week, Perry made it clear he couldn’t care less about pro wrestling.

During the June 12th edition of AEW Dynamite, Dustin Rhodes and Jack Perry faced off to determine who would advance in the TNT Championship ladder match at Forbidden Door on June 30th.

As the match approached its climax, Dustin Rhodes, visibly bleeding but determined, gained the upper hand over the resilient young AEW star, who showed unwavering resolve to stay in the fight. Jack Perry capitalized on an opportunity by executing a DDT on Dustin outside the ring. Despite Dustin’s tenacious return to the ring, Perry secured his victory with a decisive knee strike, earning the win and progressing to the Forbidden Door event.

In a digital exclusive promo recorded after his victory over Dustin Rhodes, Jack Perry emphatically reiterated his belief that he is the chosen one destined to claim the championship. Perry expressed his disregard for sacrificing anything for the “wrestling business” and emphasized his dedication to AEW’s “true spirit,” as it was before external influences tainted its essence.

“I already told you, it doesn’t matter what anybody says or what anybody does. I have already been chosen by the universe. For everything that I’ve been through, for everything that I’ve sacrificed, and not for the wrestling business. I don’t give a shit about the wrestling business. I’m talking about everything that I’ve sacrificed for the true spirit of AEW before all these unworthy people came in here and tried to poison what that really means. We all have to sacrifice and one way or another at Forbidden Door, I am the next TNT Champion.”

We will have to wait and see how Jack Perry will fare in the TNT Championship ladder match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30th, as fans feel he should become the new champion.
