TNA Wrestling and WWE have collaborated in the past and they have started it again since last month with Jordynne Grace’s appearance on NXT television. In light of their collaboration, Tony Khan has now revealed his thoughts on the matter.

Back in late 2020 and early 2021, AEW and TNA Wrestling formed a partnership that saw Kenny Omega working on TNA television while stars such as The Good Brothers appeared on AEW television as well. They would ultimately stop their collaboration a couple of years ago.

While speaking to Scott Fishman of TV Insider, AEW President Tony Khan was asked to share his thoughts on WWE and TNA Wrestling’s current working relationship. Tony Khan expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating with wrestling companies worldwide since the launch of AEW. He highlighted the evolving relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling, leading to co-branded events like Forbidden Door.

As they approach the third installment, it signifies a new level of cooperation among wrestling promotions, with stars from CMLL and Stardom joining New Japan Pro Wrestling and AEW talents in competition.

Khan further emphasized being open to partnering with top wrestling promotions globally, noting the unprecedented spirit of cooperation in worldwide pro wrestling. Witnessing AEW’s top stars competing at Wrestle Kingdom in Tokyo showcases their commitment to delivering excellent collaborations with New Japan. Khan believes this year’s Forbidden Door will stand out as one of the strongest shows any promotion will produce worldwide.

”Since we launched AEW we’ve been looking to work with great wrestling companies across the planet. The relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling developed in 2021 and built to the point where we teamed to do a co-branded event like Forbidden Door. We’re approaching the third one. It’s a whole new level of great cooperation between wrestling promotions to see the stars of CMLL and Stardom in addition to the great wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling competing with AEW stars.

I’m always open to working with great wrestling promotions all over the world. It feels like the spirit of cooperation in worldwide pro wrestling is greater than it has ever been, which is a big positive. Seeing the top stars of AEW go to Tokyo and compete at Wrestle Kingdom, I think that the fans can always count on AEW and New Japan to put on great collaborations. I think this year’s Forbidden Door will be one of the strongest shows any promotion will put anywhere in the world.”

WWE plans to increase talent exchanges between both companies, and it is expected that there will be WWE involvement at the Against All Odds pay-per-view. It remains to be seen how WWE and TNA Wrestling’s partnership will continue to flourish in the coming weeks.
