Gabe Kidd’s recent triumph over Eddie Kingston to secure the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship at NJPW Resurgence has elevated his career to new heights. As the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door collaboration looms, fans are curious about Kidd’s potential involvement.
In an interview with WRESTHINGS, Kidd emphasized his focus on personal growth and fighting spirit, asserting his indifference towards developments in WWE or AEW. However, he hinted at a potential interest in AEW due to the Forbidden Door initiative.
“Nobody’s got more fighting spirit than me. That’s what it’s about. It’s about constant improvement and not getting caught up in shit. I don’t care what’s going on in WWE or AEW right now because I’m not there. Maybe I’ll start looking at AEW because Forbidden Door is coming up, but I’ll slap a few of them around and then I’ll see if I want to do it full-time. It’s a big commitment. So if I enjoy it, maybe I’ll go there. But if not, then I’ll stick around and enjoy beating up Japanese people some more,” Gabe Kidd stated.
Kidd also expressed his desire to introduce Ice Spice to NJPW, suggesting potential future collaborations and roster additions.
While Kidd remains steadfast in his commitment to personal growth and resilience, his subtle nod towards potential involvement with AEW’s Forbidden Door initiative has ignited speculation among fans.
