The road to AEW’s next collaborative pay-per-view event, Forbidden Door, has been moving fast-paced. Moreover, tonight’s June 12 edition of AEW Dynamite saw another qualifying match for the TNT Championship at the event.

The showdown pitted Elite member Jack Perry, who originally was about to be awarded the TNT Title by The Young Bucks, against the veteran of the business, Dustin Rhodes, with high stakes involved.

Perry and Rhodes engaged in a spectacular wrestling bout with an opportunity to come close to becoming champion in AEW hanging in the balance alongside being part of one of the most popular events in the wrestling business today.

The closing moments of the bout saw visibly bleeding Dustin Rhodes overpowering the young AEW star, who showed resilience and stayed in the match. Furthermore, Perry took the opportunity to land a DDT on Dustin outside the ring. Despite Dustin making it back and showing defiance, Perry landed a knee strike on him to win the match and advance to Forbidden Door.
