Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made an appearance on this week’s episode of NXT and had an interesting interaction with some of his friends during a backstage segment. Interestingly enough, they all recreated an iconic Spider-Man meme after the show.
During the June 11th edition of WWE NXT, Cody Rhodes spoke directly to the NXT audience, joining forces with NXT Champion Trick Williams. After a quick exchange with Trick, Rhodes revealed the exciting news: the next contender would emerge from a 25-man Battle Royal scheduled for next week. The victor of this intense showdown would then go on to challenge Trick for the title at NXT Heatwave.
The American Nightmare also had a backstage interaction with Ethan Page, Shawn Spears and Lexis King, as Rhodes remarked that they all seemed to be in ‘a good place’ now.
WWE NXT’s official Instagram account took to the social media platform and uploaded a photo of Rhodes, Spears, King and Page, as they all recreated the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme, acknowledging the fact that they were all in AEW at one time.

Page, Spears and King will also be competing in the battle royal next week to determine the #1 contender for the NXT Championship at Heatwave, so we will have to wait and see who will come out on top in the end.
