Ricochet’s tenure with WWE is nearing its conclusion, with the star having recently informed the company of his intention to depart. Multiple sources have confirmed Ricochet’s plans to leave once his contract expires in the summer of 2024.

As his contract expiration approaches, Ricochet was written off television during the June 10 episode of WWE Raw. This move has sparked comments from MVP, who reflected on Ricochet and the formation of The Hurt Business in 2020.

In a revealing tweet, MVP shared insights into the original plans for The Hurt Business, stating:

“True story. When we were forming The Hurt Business, I asked for BOTH Ricochet AND Cedric Alexander. We were told we could only have one. We chose Cedric because we felt he needed our association more than Ricochet did. I always thought Ricky O would be a big star on his own.”

The Hurt Business, which included MVP, Cedric Alexander, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, became a dominant faction in WWE. However, the stable disbanded in January 2022, with Lashley splitting from the group and later feuding with Benjamin and Alexander.

Despite hopes of a WWE reunion, The Hurt Business has yet to reform on screen. However, WaleMania over WrestleMania 40 weekend did see the group come together once again.

As Ricochet prepares to explore new opportunities outside WWE, his departure marks the end of a significant chapter in his career. Fans and colleagues alike will be watching closely to see what the future holds for the high-flying superstar.
