The Rock became a prime fixture on the road to WrestleMania 40, with his appearances generating significant buzz and contributing greatly to WWE’s recent success. Following the end of the road, The Final Boss went on hiatus to begin filming his upcoming movie, “The Smashing Machine.”

It is the biopic of MMA fighter Mark Kerr and features an impressive cast, including Emily Blunt, Lyndsey Gavin, and more, alongside Dwayne Johnson, who portrays the main role with the film set for a 2025 release.

The Rock has been spotted undergoing intense MMA sessions inside the octagon over the last few months and looked unrecognizable, especially after the drop of his character’s first look. However, in his latest video on Instagram, The Final Boss revealed that he suffered an elbow injury amidst training for the film, believing it to be some soft tissue damage.

“Since you guys know, I am filming a movie called The Smashing Machine and anytime your film is called The Smashing Machine, well you are gonna get smashed up [showing his elbow] look at that sucker right there, it’s like having a cataloupe up my elbow. I got banged up pretty good today, you know scenes and there might be some soft tissue damage, that’s a lot of fluid, we’ll see, I got to get it out of there first before I got any kind of MRI.”
