Cody Rhodes reached the mountain top at WrestleMania 40 when he ended the 1,316-day reign of Roman Reigns as World Champion and won his first-ever WWE Championship in historic fashion.

However, winning the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40 has brought a new set of responsibilities for The American Nightmare, solidifying his status as the face of the company.

Cody Rhodes already has a weekly presence on WWE television programming and live events and frequently engages with the media while continuing to build a deep connection with the fans who helped him ‘Finish The Story.’

In a recent interview with WHAS11, Cody Rhodes revealed that he had been waiting for this moment since he came into WWE when he was 20 years old. However, upon the arrival of his time, Rhodes welcomed the huge responsibility of being the new face of the company, which in turn is also a new regime alongside makeshift changes that has brought WWE staggering success in recent memory.

“I came into WWE, I was 20 years old. When you’re 20, you think, ‘It’s definitely going to be me. I’m the face of this thing. This is mine.’ At 25, you think, ‘It’s definitely me. Definitely.’ As you get more experience and get more educated in sports entertainment, pro wrestling, when that moment came for me, because I had heard it several times, it’s such a good feeling but also the first thing is ‘Whew, okay, alright.’ I welcome the responsibility and have enjoyed this time because it’s a completely new face for WWE in terms of, not just me, but new management, new ownership, everything. Being part of that is really cool.”

Moving forward as the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes is set for a blockbuster rematch against AJ Styles at WWE’s upcoming PLE, WWE Clash at the Castle, with his title at stake. However, this time, with the stipulation being an ‘I Quit match,’ the fans in Scotland can surely expect another stellar yet physically battering showdown between the two formidable foes.
