Adam Copeland made a huge impact upon arriving in AEW at their WrestleDream last year but has encountered a significant setback in recent memory after he suffered a serious injury in his last match.

Following a dangerous spot at AEW Double or Nothing, where he successfully defended his TNT Title against Malakai Black, Adam Copeland fractured his tibia, necessitating a prolonged absence from the ring. As a result, the Rated-R superstar was forced to relinquish the TNT Championship.

Moreover, he also had surgery, which was ultimately successful, but as revealed by Copeland, there were complications due to the location of the break. Now, in recent interview with SI.com, Copeland stated that initially, he thought it to be a minor sprain and was able to finish the match.

However, it was after later examinations that Adam Copeland found out that he wrestled the match after the injury spot, on a broken leg.

“I thought maybe I sprained it or it was a bone bruise. I got up and I ran, and I finished the match. I just didn’t realize I was doing it all on a broken leg.”

Adam Copeland also humorously noted that his leg injury could be seen as an addition to his grizzled veteran persona. As he embarks on the road to recovery, the timeline for his return to AEW remains uncertain.
