Roxanne Perez has been the NXT Women’s Champion for a couple of months now and she successfully retained her title against Jordynne Grace at NXT Battleground. However, when CM Punk had some wise words for her after the bout, Perez ended up calling him a hypocrite.
At NXT Battleground 2024, Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship by defeating TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace. The match saw interference from Ash By Elegance and Tatum Paxley, contributing to Perez’s victory.
In a post-match digital exclusive, Roxanne Perez shared her thoughts on her triumph and noted how many were shocked at the outcome. She went on to say that she is the prodigy and no one is like her.
“Are you surprised? Tell me right now, are you surprised? Of course you are, aren’t you? Because everybody was surprised. But why? Why? I’m The Prodigy. There’s no one like me.”
CM Punk then made an appearance, advising Perez to keep her composure. He praised her superiority over the competitors from both NXT and TNA, urging her to stay true to herself.
“Hold up, just calm down one second. I’m sorry to bust in here. Listen, you’re the champion for a reason. You’re head and shoulders above all these women here. You’re head and shoulders above all the TNA Knockouts. But tonight, you got lucky. I need you to focus on this. I need you to be who you are, I need you to be The Prodigy. You don’t need anything else.”
Roxanne Perez was clearly not happy with what The Second City Saint had to say to her, as she simply thanked him for the advice before calling CM Punk a hypocrite and walking away.
“Thanks for the advice. What a hypocrite, huh?”
It is not known why Roxanne Perez has suddenly turned on CM Punk, but fans were undoubtedly shocked by what she had to say. We’ll have to see whether Punk will make more appearances on NXT television to confront Roxanne Perez in the future.
