Wrestling veteran Christian Cage has showcased his exceptional skills over the past year after his move to AEW, cementing his reputation as one of the best heels in professional wrestling. However, he is also well-remembered for his impactful tenure in WWE, which made him a household name in the business, wrestling under his shortened name “Christian.”

In a candid discussion on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Christian Cage set the record straight regarding the difference between his former gimmick, Christian, and his current one outside WWE, Christian Cage.

The former TNT Champion stated that while Christian gimmick was indeed a part of WWE, Christian Cage has never wrestled in the company and claimed that his WWE persona was nowhere close to his current persona.

“There are completely separate entities in my mind. Christian Cage has never been in WWE, Christian has, but Christian is not Christian Cage. Christian quite honestly doesn’t hold the candle to Christian Cage. It’s not even close.”

When asked about what makes Christian Cage better than his WWE persona, he admitted it to be the freedom to do things his way without any constraints.

“Christian Cage can be who he wants to be, without any constraints, without any politics, without anybody telling me say this, don’t say that, do this, don’t do that, it’s me being me.”

Christian Cage also disclosed the length of his current AEW contract. Despite his recent loss to Swerve Strickland at AEW Double or Nothing, fans eagerly anticipate what the future holds for the former multi-time WWE tag team champion.
