The NXT North American Championship picture has been very promising in the past few months. Since the day Oba Femi got his hands on the title, the NXT roster has changed with a lot of people going to get new opportunities.

On tonight’s NXT Battleground 2024, the card featured a triple-threat match for the title, with Oba Femi defending his coveted title against Wes Lee and Joe Coffey in a massive showdown at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

The match was an incredible back-and-forth, with three of the most talented WWE NXT stars bringing different styles to the table and the coveted championship of the Black and Gold brand at stake.

Following a hard-fought battle, the closing moments of the bout saw Joe Coffey’s cohorts from Gallus run interference on his behalf on multiple occasions, only for Wes Lee to take them out with a dive outside the ring. However, this gave Oba Femi the opportunity to lay out both competitors with a pop-up powerbomb to secure the win and retain his championship.
