The fall of WCW remains a major subject within the wrestling community, with its demise attributed to a lot of factors. Vince Russo is one of the biggest names that comes to mind for the death of WCW but it appears Tony Schiavone thinks differently.

As previously reported, the ”Who Killed WCW?” docuseries was produced by Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions and the series premiered on June 4 on VICE TV.

During his What Happened When podcast, Schiavone expressed his thoughts on “Who Killed WCW?” and all the criticism hurled towards Vince Russo. He defended Russo and stated that Russo gave it his all for WCW and worked hard to put the product together.

“I hate it that Russo gets all the sh*t that he gets. It’s not fair. Vince Russo worked endlessly, tirelessly, to put a product together. He did. And [he] was good to me, and was a good guy. And I’m honest about that.”

Tony Schiavone also made it clear he will be boycotting the docuseries entirely. Nevertheless, Vince Russo will always be attributed to WCW’s downfall and that will never change.
