Meiko Satomura is one of the most legendary Japanese professional wrestlers of all time and she signed with WWE back in 2021. Unfortunately, she has been absent for a long time, and it appears her future remains uncertain.

Meiko Satomura once held the NXT UK Women’s Championship and proved her mettle against the best in the NXT women’s division. She was last seen at NXT Roadblock back in March 2023, where she lost to Roxanne Perez.

During a Q&A podcast on Fightful Select, Corey Brennan was asked about Meiko Satomura’s status while she remains absent from WWE television. The reasons for her absence are not entirely clear, but it is noted that Satomura has been in Japan, working with her own promotion.

The exact details and reasons for her absence are not confirmed, with speculation that it might be visa-related. Higher-ups within the organization are more likely to have concrete information on the matter, but this has not been publicly disclosed yet.

“I can’t answer to why. I’m still looking into it. I can say that the people that truly know are higher ups. I don’t know if it’s visa related but she has been in Japan working for her promotion. She has not been in the states. She has not been called. She has not been at NXT shows since her last match with Roxanne.”

We will have to wait and see whether Meiko Satomura will ever return to WWE television, as it seems quite unlikely she will come back anytime soon by the looks of it.
