Ivar was building up his credibility as a singles star, establishing himself as a formidable opponent for anyone in WWE. However, he was recently written off television due to injury and now his status with NXT has been revealed.
During a previous episode of NXT, Wes Lee, Ivar, and Josh Briggs were set to compete in a triple threat match to determine the next challenger for the NXT North American Championship. However, they were found incapacitated on the floor backstage. The attackers were later revealed to be the returning members of the faction Gallus.
Following the incident where Ivar was attacked by Gallus, it was announced that he had indeed suffered an injury, leading to his removal from WWE television. Ivar confirmed that his injury is a very legitimate one.
During a Q&A podcast on Fightful Select, Corey Brennan was asked about Ivar’s status with NXT following his injury. It was noted that Ivar is done with NXT and won’t be back for a long time.
“The only thing I heard about Ivar and the NXT is that he’s done with the brand and he won’t be back for quite awhile.”
However, Ivar’s wrestling future is uncertain at the moment after his injury. Despite the injury setback, fans are hopeful for his speedy recovery and return to the ring as soon as possible.
