On the June 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, tensions ran high following the events of the previous week where AJ Styles’ fake retirement culminated in a brutal attack on Cody Rhodes. The segment this week was intense, with a significant presence of security personnel involved to maintain order. The identities of the security personnel have now been revealed.

Cody, fueled by revenge, spent the night waiting for AJ Styles in the parking lot. When Styles finally arrived, security guards intervened to keep them apart, prompting Cody to call AJ out to the ring to settle their differences.

AJ Styles, accompanied by Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, confronted Cody, while Nick Aldis and his security team quickly joined the scene to maintain order. Styles dismissed Cody’s demands and instead challenged him to an Undisputed WWE Title match at WWE Clash at the Castle.

Without hesitation, Rhodes accepted the challenge and proposed raising the stakes with an “I Quit” match. The tension escalated further when Styles hit Rhodes with a sucker punch, officially setting the stage for their high-stakes match.

Fightful Select reports that several extras from Ohio Valley Wrestling were involved in the segment. Luke Kurtis, TW3, Ashton Adonis, and Kal Herro made on-screen appearances, while Angelica Risk and Sophia Rose were also present backstage. Their participation added depth to the scene, contributing to the overall dramatic build-up between Rhodes and Styles.

We will have to wait and see how AJ Styles will fare against Cody Rhodes at Clash at The Castle on June 15th, as it is quite clear that The American Nightmare has his number right now.
