Cody Rhodes finished his story after defeating Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed WWE Champion in the main event of Wrestlemania 40. While the American Nightmare has had a decent run as the champion on Smackdown, his reign is different from what Roman Reigns had.

The biggest difference between both men is the appearances they make. While Reigns was running on a part-time schedule, appearing only for big PLEs and missing the smaller ones, Rhodes has been a workhorse and has managed to appear at every show possible, even after winning the title.

In recent interview with WHAS 11, Rhodes was asked about the differences he felt in his title reign and in what Roman Reigns had. While highlighting the difference in their schedule, Rhodes stated that he was the champion even before WrestleMania 40. He just didn’t have the title with him.

“I think one of the things I really love is the fact that I am able to go city to city. Whereas the WWE Champion prior to myself, the man I defeated, Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief, was not on every city. He wasn’t making it to every show. And I’ve had the opportunity to be able to bring it, and for a year, I felt like I was the champion without the belt. I was everywhere, promising them, ‘Hey, I’m gonna bring you the WWE Championship’. It feels good when you can fulfill your promise and go back to these places and bring this title.”

Cody Rhodes’ title reign has not been as promising as it should have been following the massive victory he had at the Grandest Stage of them All. However, with Summerslam 2024 on the horizon, things could turn around for the American Nightmare.

Rhodes is currently set to defend his Undisputed title against AJ Styles in an ‘I Quit’ match at Clash at the Castle 2024. Stay connected to Ringside News to get the latest updates on the show.
