It’s Saturday night and you know what that means! AEW Collision will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the June 8, 2024 episode.

AEW Collision Results (6/8/2024):

The show opens up with Blackpool Combat Club (ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli) making their way down to the ring for the first match of the night as Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcomes us. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) then makes their way down to the ring next.

Tag Team Match: Blackpool Combat Club (ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta and Claudio Castagnoli) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

The match starts off with Yuta and Cash. Yuta puts Cash in a side head lock and hits him with a number of drop kicks. Castagnoli then tags in and goes for his big swing, but it gets stopped. Castagnoli goes for the big swing again, but Wheeler thwarts the attempt once again. Castagnoli then puts Wheeler in a sharpshooter and at the same time Harwood puts Yuta in a sharpshooter. Castagnoli and Harwood then trade slaps and strikes. All four men then end up trading shots in the middle of the ring. Harwood then places Castagnoli on the top turnbuckle and hits him with a superplex. Wheeler then goes for a top rope splash, but Castagnoli put his knees up. Yuta then goes for a top rope splash, but Harwood put his knees up. Harwood then clotheslines Yuta over the top rope and Castagnoli does the same to Wheeler. FTR then goes for the Shatter Machine on Castagnoli, but Yuta breaks it up. Castagnoli then does the giant swing on Wheeler and Yuta dropkicks Wheeler, which leads to a two count.

FTR then comes right back and hits the Shatter Machine on Castagnoli. Wheeler then has Castagnoli pinned, but Yuta shoves Harwood into him to break the fall. Castagnoli then counters out of a hold and puts Wheeler into a Sharpshooter. Harwood then puts Yuta in a Sharpshooter. Wheeler then escapes the Sharpshooter and then Castagnoli hits a Neutralizer on Harwood. Wheeler then hits a piledriver on Castagnoli for a near fall. Bobby Cruise then announces that there was one minute remaining in the time limit. Castagnoli then hits a superplex on Wheeler and hits the Neutralizer and gets a two count. Castagnoli then puts Wheeler in a crossface and then counters into the Rings of Saturn. The bell then rings and the time expires.

The match has ended in a time-limit draw.

After the match, Harwood gets on the mic and calls for five more minutes. Brandon Cutler then comes out on behalf of the AEW EVPs Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. Cutler says the contract for this match was for 20 minutes. Castagnoli then does the Big Swing on Cutler. FTR then follows it up with the Shatter Machine. Castagnoli then says they can run it back any time.

We then head to the back, where Kyle O’Reilly was interviewed by Lexy Nair about his match with Orange Cassidy. Roderick Strong then yells “Kyle” and enters with Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. Strong says O’Reilly has been good, but not great since he returned. Strong then says it was like something or someone was missing. Strong then says they were rooting for O’Reilly in the main event. Strong then tells O’Reilly he beat Cassidy twice and will give O’Reilly advice. O’Reilly says was not interested. Strong then says just remember what I told you when you came back.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Don Callis Family’s Kris Statlander vs. Robyn Renegade

The match starts off with Statlander hitting a powerbomb on Renegade. Statlander then follows it up with a tombstone piledriver and gets the win.

After the match, Hathaway grabs the mic and calls Statlander an inspiration and his muse. Hathaway then says he wishes he had the strength, speed and intensity of Statlander. Hathaway then says he wishes he could decimate an entire division with the snap of his fingers just like Statlander. Hathaway then says he spoke with Tony Khan and they were on the same page for the first time ever. Hathaway then says he told Khan that Statlander is the past, present and future of AEW. Hathaway then says Statlander will make history by becoming the first woman to have held the TBS Title and the AEW Women’s World Championship. Hathaway then announces that Statlander is the first entrant in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament for a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.

We then head to the backstage, where Lexi Nair is interviewing Willow Nightingale about the announcement that Kris Statlander is entering the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Willow says that as the previous winner she was also entering the tournament. Nair then asks Nightingale what she had planned for tonight and Willow says she was just there to keep an eye on the action.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes vs. Johnny TV

The match starts off with Dustin Rhodes heading out to ringside and putting his arm around Taya Valkyrie while she was playing to the crowd, which startled her. TV then checks on his wife and Dustin hits him with a cannonball off the apron. Rhodes and Valkyria then bickers and TV hits a corkscrew dive onto Rhodes and then made out with Valkyria on the ring steps. Rhodes then rallies back and hits a Code Red on TV. Valkyrie then jumps on the apron and argues with the referee while Rhodes hit TV with the Shattered Dreams. Rhodes then follows it up with Cross Rhodes and goes for the pin, but Valkyrie places TV’s foot on the bottom rope. Rhodes then goes to ringside and blocks a slap from Valkyrie, who was ejected by the referee. Rhodes then returns to the ring, but TV kicks the middle rope into his groin. TV then hits Rhodes with a kick and covers him for a two count. TV then hits Rhodes with several knee strikes. Rhodes then avoids the Starship Pain. Dustin then hits TV with the Cross Rhodes for the win.

After the match, Dustin grabs the mic and says oh God he is getting old. The crowd then responds with a “You still got it” chant. Dustin then says he had two things to talk about. Dustin praises the fans for not abandoning him over 37 years and says he loves them all. Dustin also thanks everyone in the back and the production team as well as Tony Khan for giving him the opportunity. Rhodes then praises the cameramen and says they are all number one. Dustin then says the second thing really pisses him off. Dustin then says he wanted to talk about Jack Perry. Dustin then says they missed Perry when he left and were happy to see him when he returned, but then he attacked his boss. Dustin then says Perry attacked the man who gives them paychecks and gave Perry a second chance. Dustin then says Perry disgusts him and took issue with him joining The Elite.

Dustin then says he’s heard Perry talk about how much he sacrificed for the business. Dustin then tells Perry that he was born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Dustin then spoke about sacrificing when he loses his job to a computer and having to pick up two jobs just to make ends meet. Rhodes then says Perry hasn’t sacrificed sh*t. Dustin then recalls taking a photo with Perry when Perry was young and he thought he was a cool kid. Rhodes then says Perry is mediocre because he’s a follower and not a leader. Rhodes then says if you’re not a leader, then the view never changes and acknowledges he was quoting his late father. A “Dusty” chant then breaks out and then Dustin points at the sky. Rhodes then says he and Perry will have a match on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite. Dustin then says he will destroy Perry’s little punk a**. Dustin then says Perry can’t beat him fair and square and he’d mark his whole career on that. Dustin then says that when it’s all over and Perry is lying in a heap, he will never forget his name.

We then get a video package on Zack Sabre Jr. Sabre Jr. says he will take care of unfinished business at Forbidden Door. Footage was then shown of Sabre’s past match with Orange Cassidy.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Tag Team Match.

Tag Team Match: The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese) vs. Dante Leon and Trip Jordy

The match starts off with Daivari and Nese attacking the local enhancement wrestlers during the introductions. Daivari then takes out Leon with a clothesline and sends him to ringside. Nese then hits an inverted piledriver on Jordy for the win.

Scorpio Sky then cuts a promo and says there is a gap in the company and all of the fan’s heroes have fallen. Sky then says it’s time for everyone to come together. Sky then says he will be everyone’s hero, everyone’s voice and everyone’s champion because he’s here for the fans.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Lady Frost

The match starts off with Frost hitting Storm with a moonsault from the apron to the floor. Luther then picks up Storm and puts her back in the ring. Storm then hist Frost with a hip attack in the corner and then covers for a two count. Frost then comes back and gets a couple of two counts. Storm then cuts off Frost on the ropes and hits a backstabber. Frost then rolls up Storm for another two count, but Storm comes right back with a sit-out powerbomb for a two count of her own. Storm then hits Frost with a Storm Zero for the win.

After the match, Storm sits on the apron and Mariah May joins her. Storm grabs a mic and says she knows that it will be tough for May to see her face her former partner Mina Shirakawa. Storm then tells May she loves her and wants her to get the same opportunities that she has had. Storm then says that as the AEW Women’s World Champion she was demanding that May be entered into the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Storm then says she would be there throughout the tournament for May.

Tony Schiavone then says next week will be the one-year anniversary edition of Collision and announces Lee Moriarty vs. Dante Martin in a qualifier for the ladder match that will crown the new TNT Champion at Forbidden Door.

We then head to the back, where Lexy Nair is interviewing Lee Moriarty and Dante Martin. Moriarty and Dante both spoke about their past victories over one another. Shane Taylor then says he appreciated the history lesson, but that’s the past. Taylor then says the Martins are stuntmen and the only one with any heart was Andretti.

Samoa Joe and HOOK then had the camera follow them while Joe asks HOOK about the sport of lacrosse. HOOK says it’s the oldest sport in America. Joe then asks whether a game that is half hockey and half soccer is the oldest game in America. Joe and HOOK then enters The Premier Athletes’ dressing room and leaves Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese lying. Joe then grabs Mark Sterling and tells him that what he was about to say was important. Joe then says we did this to you before releasing Sterling.

We then get the entrances of the next match, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Daniel Garcia vs. Tate Mayfairs

The match starts off with Garcia hitting a Saito suplex on Mayfairs, then follows it up with a shotgun dropkick. Garcia then puts Mayfairs in a guillotine and follows it up with a Red Cross for the win.

After the match, Garcia climbs on the ringside barricade and dances. Garcia then looks into the camera and says AEW is where the best wrestle for the sickos.

Excalibur then narrates a brief video package on Zeuxis, who will challenge Mercedes Moné for the TBS Title on Wednesday’s Dynamite. Commentary then officially announces Dustin Rhodes vs. Jack Perry and adds that it will be a qualifier for the ladder match for the TNT Title. Commentary also says RUSH will be in action and also touted the previously advertised matches.

Commentary then runs through the AEW Forbidden Door lineup and hypes the Collision main event.

We then head to the back, where “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy was interviewed by Lexy Nair. Nair brings up the Zack Sabre Jr. video. Cassidy complains about losing his friends and facing Kyle O’Reilly tonight. Cassidy then says he had to go get ready for his match.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: “Freshly Squeezed” Orange Cassidy vs. Kyle O’Reilly

The match starts off with O’Reilly putting Cassidy in a submission hold. Cassidy then reaches the ropes and heads to ringside. Matt Taven then stands up and takes a picture of Cassidy. O’Reilly then slams Cassidy’s leg on the apron and punches him. O’Reilly then walks over to Strong, who said something to him. Cassidy then takes advantage of the distraction for a moment, but O’Reilly hist him with a couple of dragon screw leg whips on the floor. O’Reilly then follows it up with another dragon screw. Both men then trade kicks. Cassidy then goes for a Stundog Millionaire, but O’Reilly counters into a submission hold. Cassidy then escapes an ankle lock and gets a two count. Cassidy then battles back and goes for the Orange Punch, but O’Reilly thwarts it and applies a double wristlock. O’Reilly then puts his hand in the pocket of Cassidy to prevent Cassidy from breaking the hold while he put him in a rear naked choke. Cassidy then hits the headbutt to break free and follows it up with a Beach Break for a near fall. Cassidy then goes for the Orange Punch, but his bad knee gives out. Both men then trade punches. O’Reilly then teeters on the ropes while setting up for a move, but Cassidy hits him with the Orange Punch for the win.

After the match, Strong, Taven and Bennett were shown looking disappointed at ringside. Referee Paul Turner then helps Cassidy to his feet and raises his arm before leaving the ring. Trent Beretta and Kyle Fletcher then enters the ring behind Cassidy and attacks him while Don Callis watches from ringside. O’Reilly then sees what was happening on the big screen and returns to the ring to help, but he was quickly outnumbered. Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway then made their way out. Statlander then enters the ring and shakes hands with Beretta. Statlander then picks up Cassidy, but is interrupted by Willow Nightingale’s music. Nightingale makes her way down to the ring while Statlander goes to ringside with the other heels. Willow then checks on Cassidy while the heels watches from the ramp and Schiavone reads through the Dynamite lineup. Cassidy and O’Reilly then thanks Willow and the babyfaces stare down the heels as the show comes to a close.
