WWE’s Plans for Cody Rhodes & AJ Styles Feud Revealed

The rivalry between AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes over the Undisputed WWE Championship took an interesting turn following their epic encounter at WWE Backlash France, with The Phenomenal One pulling a major swerve on Cody Rhodes on SmackDown last week.

During a memorable segment, AJ Styles took a reflective moment to discuss his career, expressing that he couldn’t envision starting over in his quest for the Undisputed WWE Championship and hinting at the importance of prioritizing his role as a father.

Afterward, AJ Styles summoned the champion, Cody Rhodes, to the ring, expressing appreciation for their memorable encounter at WWE Backlash France. However, as the show neared its conclusion, Styles launched sudden assault on Rhodes, culminating in a devastating Styles Clash from the steel steps onto the mat and continued to pummel Rhodes before leaving the arena after the show ended.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a rematch between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles was planned for the WWE Clash at the Castle on June 15th. However, there is speculation that the match could be saved for the next WWE PLE, Money in the Bank, or even held off until the Toronto event. Regardless, the official announcement for the match is expected on June 7th.

“As of early in the week, the plan was for this match to be on 6/15, and likely to be announced on 6/7. But it also could be held off until Toronto.”

With things certainly not over between Rhodes and Styles and a rumored plan in store for their rematch, fans will have to wait and see how WWE will develop this intense feud in the coming weeks.
