Brian Christopher sadly passed away while incarcerated in 2018, but that terrible situation is far from over for Jerry Lawler. He filed a $3 million lawsuit and a lot happened since then and now a trial date has been set for the lawsuit.

Brian Lawler was incarcerated for a DUI arrest in 2018. It was alleged that he committed suicide by hanging, but there is plenty of evidence to support that foul play is possibility.

A trial date has been established in Jerry Lawler’s lawsuit concerning the tragic passing of his son, Brian Christopher. Lawler filed a wrongful death suit against Hardeman County, Tennessee, following Brian’s death while in custody for a DUI arrest. According to PWInsider, a jury trial has been scheduled for March 31st, 2025, as determined during a scheduling conference held before The U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee (Jackson).

In his lawsuit, Lawler contends that the Sheriff’s Office neglected to provide Brian with necessary treatment for his drug and alcohol issues during his time in custody. Furthermore, he alleges that they failed to administer appropriate care after Brian was assaulted by another inmate on the day of his passing.

Lawler is seeking $3 million in damages and compensatory damages if the court sees fit. Lawler is also seeking a court order forcing Hardeman County to force immediate changes to prevent any additional suicides of prisoners in Hardeman County custody, noting, “the order should require “Hardeman County to correct their unconstitutional deficiencies so that no other family has to go through what this family has had to endure over the past year.

It is certainly a tragic situation, and our hearts go out to Jerry Lawler and his family during this difficult time. We can only hope that the legal process will bring some form of closure and resolution for them. With the trial set for March 31st, 2025, there is still a significant amount of time before it commences. We will have to patiently wait and see how the proceedings unfold.
