TNA Disappointed by Lack of Ratings Increase from Jordynne Grace’s 5/28 WWE NXT Appearance

The May 28th edition of WWE NXT was filled with surprises for fans, as Jordynne Grace made a significant impact with her appearance but it appears TNA was disappointed by a lack of ratings increase from her appearance.

The TNA Knockouts Champion also achieved victory over Stevie Turner during the June 4th NXT episode. Fans were definitely happy to see her on NXT television but many wondered if her appearance had any impact on TNA’s television ratings.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was significant disappointment regarding the expected impact of Jordynne Grace’s appearance on the May 28th episode of NXT. TNA had hoped that Grace’s appearance, coupled with the mentions of TNA on the show, would lead to a ratings boost for the May 30th episode of TNA programming.

However, the anticipated increase did not materialize. The show did not even make it into the top 150, indicating an extremely low rating—an 0.01 or less than 19,000 viewers in the 18-49 demographic from No. 134 on down.

”However, there was great disappointment as TNA hoped the appearance of Jordynne Grace on the 5/28 NXT show with all the mentions of TNA on the show would lead to a ratings increase for the show on 5/30, and we don’t even know that number because it didn’t hit the top 150 and that’s an 0.01 (or less than 19,000 viewers in 18-49) from No. 134 on down.”

There’s a lot of hype surrounding Jordynne Grace’s NXT Women’s Championship match against Roxanne Perez at NXT Battleground on June 9th. Regardless, fans do hope TNA will eventually prosper thanks to their partnership with WWE.
