Shinsuke Nakamura has been part of the WWE family for well over eight years after he parted ways with NJPW to go to the USA. Nakamura undoubtedly possesses immense talent, yet his win-loss record in 2024 doesn’t reflect his abilities.

According to Cagematch, Nakamura has participated in 40 matches across WWE programming and live events in 2024. However, his 1-39 record for 2024 signifies a mere 2.5% win rate. Nakamura’s sole victory took place on the February 12 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw, where he beat Sami Zayn.

Cody Rhodes appears to be Nakamura’s most formidable opponent, consistently handing him losses. The reigning Undisputed WWE Champion has faced Nakamura 20 times in 2024, emerging victorious on every occasion. Notably, 17 of these matches were off-air, occurring in dark matches or live events. Rhodes secured wins on Raw as well, and he bested Nakamura in the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match.

Nakamura’s position in WWE underscores that he hasn’t reached the pinnacle fans once envisioned for him. Despite engaging in a high-profile feud with then-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in 2023, Nakamura’s failure to secure victory, despite Rollins nursing a severe spine injury, was a telling sign of his diminishing star power.

We will have to wait and see whether WWE will decide to give Shinsuke Nakamura a title run again in the future. Judging by how he has been booked so far this year, that just doesn’t seem likely now.
