Drew McIntyre’s social media presence has become a powerful tool, characterized by his quick wit and talent for humorously roasting fellow wrestlers like CM Punk and Seth Rollins. Despite experiencing a setback at WrestleMania 40, McIntyre remains undeterred in his playful trolling of CM Punk. Recently, he took another jab at Punk, offering an explanation for why Punk supposedly harbors animosity towards him.

The feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk reached a boiling point at WrestleMania 40. Following McIntyre’s grueling match with Seth Rollins, Punk launched a surprise attack, blindsiding McIntyre and creating an opportunity for Damian Priest to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and seize the title. This shocking betrayal not only cost McIntyre the championship but also fueled his burning desire for vengeance against Punk, igniting a deeply personal and intense rivalry between the two.

Since then, McIntyre and CM Punk have gone after each other, intensifying their feud with each passing week. McIntyre even took a page from Eminem’s book, using rap-inspired shot to further fuel the flames of their conflict. Punk also embarrassed McIntyre a few times after that.

While speaking to Cultaholic, Drew McIntyre was asked whether he and Punk are similar in the end. McIntyre pointed out how CM Punk used to be anti-establishment but is now nothing more than a corporate shill. He then revealed that Punk hates him because he is more Punk than Punk himself.

“No, absolutely not. I believe that maybe now I have some similarities to Punk in the past and not the terrible similarities that include a genuine and horrible person, and I believe he still is just very good at putting on an act. But he was anti-establishment. He did speak his mind, even if people didn’t always agree with him or believe him. It was his truth, and he always marched to the beat of his own drum and spoken the truth, even if he meant to be a dick because he was, but now that’s not the case. He is the corporate shill. He is always trying to do whatever you can do to make the bosses happy, kiss their butts and make sure you can justify that big contract. Well, Drew McIntyre says exactly how he feels, marching to the beat of his own drum and doing what I know is right for not just myself or the company. And I’m being a good person while I do it, and the thing that he hates most probably about me is that I am more CM Punk and CM Punk now.”

Drew McIntyre also vowed to give CM Punk title shot after he becomes the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Clash at The Castle. It remains to be seen when CM Punk and The Scottish Warrior will finally lock horns, as it will certainly make for a big money match.
